Artist Spotlight: Lucy Jane

Today we are going to take a look at Lucy Jane AKA Cassie Hale. Originally from Cleveland Tennessee, Lucy had dreams of writing country music. However, this all changed after attending a Hucci concert while she was a student at MTSU. She began to explore everything trap music had to offer, which eventually drew her to acts like Allison Wonderland and RL Grime. During this time, her brother in law, who used to own a record label based in Chattanooga, introduced her to Jonny Grande, who  soon began mentoring her in production and DJing. These sessions eventually lead to their first collaboration, “Purple Haze” which appears on Grande’s Soundboy Killa EP. She is currently a key member of the Grande Thursdays team, as well as an intern for 24-8 MGMT which works with acts like Herobust, Spag Heddy and Subfer.

Her recent work draws from a variety of producers. In addition to inspiration coming from EDM acts like Allison Wonderland, RL Grime, Troyboi and Whipped Cream, she also draws a lot of influence from hip hop producers Metro Boomin and 808 mafia. Due to theses influences, her live sets contain a strong mix of trap music as well as modern Hip Hop hits. In the coming weeks, she is planning to release her first single “White Room”. I am very excited to see where Lucy Jane’s career takes her!
