Artist Spotlight: SayLess

SayLess is an EDM duo from Mt. Juliet who currently specialize in bass house, trap and dubstep. The Duo consists of La’Vonte Clark and JJ Sims. Clark, originally from Warner Robins Georgia, was first introduced to EDM around 2010 through Skrillex’s early work as well as acts like Chrispy, Rusko, and Feed Me., began producing his own music in high school and started Djing shortly after. Sims, originally from Chicago and grew up in Mt. Juliet, was first introduced to EDM though videos of Tomorrowland in 2012 and was instantly hooked by the music. After catching his first show, Life in Color, he knew he wanted to be apart of that world. After meeting in Mt. Juliet, the two soon began working on music together. In April of 2017, the duo released their first EP, Kings, featuring Bass House, Trap and Dubstep tracks.

SayLess are inspired by several different artists in the EDM world, including Skrillex, Herobust, Jauz and Kayzo. When speaking of their plans for their career, they stated “we don’t want to be stuck in one genre, we don’t want to have any boundaries”. Their current work enters a variety of genres, including bass house, hybrid trap, as well as future bass. Since the release of Kings, they have released five singles, spanning a variety of genres. Their most recent single, Papercut, was released on March 30th. These guys are going to go places! I highly recommend checking these guys out!
